Bright neon yellow urine.. good or bad?

Postby Erin on Fri May 11, 2007 4:15 pm

Hello-

I'm on day 4 of the remission diet and feel almost "normal" (my Crohn's isn't very severe, I just want it to go into remission becuase I'm sick of the up and down with the diarrhea and lack of energy..) but I've noticed that when I pee it is bright neon yellow. I researched online and got mixed answers- they said it was from Vitamin B, but then I couldn't find out whether it was that my body isn't absorbing the Vitamin or just that I am getting too much and peeing out what I don't need. With my shakes I'm mixing CoQ10, Ferrabsorb, Grapeseed extract, FlaxOil, and a Multivitamin (and I'm alternating the CoQ10 and the Grapeseed). Any suggestions? Also- my stools are very dark. Is this from the Iron?

Thank you!!

Hi Erin,

Yes, the B vitamins in particular turn the urine bright yellow.

Iron can darken the stool as can other things.

take care,
Jini
