Sticky Gas

Postby Rissa on Sat Nov 04, 2006 5:33 am

For nearly two years I have been having an unusual and very uncomfortable symptom and was wondering if anyone else has ever seen/heard of this one.... When I pass gas, it comes out with sticky goo. Likely mucus. This happens most of the time when I pass gas, so it can be VERY inconvient or even sneak up on me. I have become totally paranoid about passing gas now. Additionally, at the same time the gas appeared, I also started suffering from severe headaches. They start in the occiput and move both up my head and down my neck into the spine. These can last for up to 4 days.

My regular MD had no answers. Acupucture offers only temporary relief. I have been through two homeopaths with small results.

Is this some usual pattern of IBD that others know of?

I have recently purchased LTYG and am pondering which choices to follow to cope with this and try to clear it. I don't know if the two things are even related or not. But they began within days of each other and have stayed on together, too.

Thoughts? Experiences? Anything...?

My experience and suggestion

Postby iang000 on Sat Nov 04, 2006 6:03 pm

I had UC for about 20 years. When I was having a 'flare-up' often I could not tell if it was gas I was passing or more. As you can imagine sometimes I gambled and lost. I have been in a couple of bad situations where I could not go home and needed to change my underwear in the bathroom at work. This is just a normal symptom of these so called diseases. As for the headaches that is most likely a food intolerance. If I were you, I would try the food intolerance diet and see what causes the headaches. It might not be something you ate the day they started, it can take up to 3 or 4 days for the food you eat to cause the headache. My suggestion to you is to improve your diet which might eliminate both problems if done correctly.

Nice one iang!

Only thing I can add to that is to try craniosacral and EFT for the headaches - see Ch.6 for instructions on how to find a practitioner, etc.
