Crohn's - Obstruction, and other questions...

Postby dfitzhenry on Fri May 04, 2007 1:33 am

Probably a good question for my gastro doc, but, he's expensive! I've experienced the fun of after a good partial obstruction clears, the explosive, simultaneous vomiting and diarrhea... why does this occur? Is it just the body dumping everything, even after the matter the caused the obstruction in the first place?

Secondly, why does chugging some George's Always Active, probably about 4 ounces, then chugging some slightly salty water, seem to cause this impending purge?

Usually if I get a partial, I know it's coming, and usually this mixture results in the obstruction ending, but in the amazing fourth of July kind of way described above...

Any thoughts on Turmeric as an anti inflammatory for Crohn's?

Sorry about bundling questions, and thanks, BTW - have followed your books for awhile, and UDO's Blend and Absorb Plus have been very important factors in my personal relief, although this year has been a bit of a trial!

Hi Dave,

To answer your obstruction questions: I honestly have no idea!

However, I do have a suggestion for how to avoid it: Find a good craniosacral therapist. Then, when you feel one coming on, book an appointment immediately. The therapist should be able to facilitate the tissue/intestine relaxing and releasing and allowing the food to pass more normally.

Regarding turmeric, a little bit is okay, but more than a pinch seems to aggravate. Only way is to test it and see.

take care,
Jini
