Bentanite clay in enema?

Postby getinthere on Sat Nov 28, 2009 6:17 am

hi, I have UC and have sporatic bleeding from my colon. I'm on the elemental diet...6 weeks or so now, and I'm sure I have a horrible case with candida which I believe is preventing some healing. I tried Wild Oil of oregano, but I'm nursing a 6 month old infant, so I only did between 5 and 10 drops a day and stopped completely because it concerned me. I am doing the natren powders 3 X day and that helps me feel ok, if I forget I get sick to my stomach and bloated in the evening. my bowel movements are liquid and happen about once an hour for a good part of the day and night. I'm following jini's supplementation for the elemental diet but was going to start adding extra doses of l-Glut and NAG. Early on in the elemental diet my milk supply dropped so low and my baby was so upset that I decided to eat some canned salmon and tuna and eggs...over a 3 day peroid in the evening. I began to have very stinky diarhea, which lasted for over a week. I figured the bacteria just went crazy with the food? Anyway I started taking bentanite clay to try and pull out the bad stuff. I don't know if it helped or not, but I did start to feel better...nausea and bloating went down.
Since I'm supplementing at a high doses of probiotics and I don't want to lose any thing good I've put in, I was wondering if:

1. Could I do an retention enema with bentanite clay, wait for a day and then do the probiotic retention enema?

my thinking is because my colon is the main location where the ulceration and bleeding is, maybe the clay would help pull out the infection (I have a lot of puss coming out too) and some of the bad bacteria.
