What kind of herbal tea? It's probably best to take NAG on an empty stomach, but I don't have the book handy for reference.

Hi Darkangel:

It's peppermint tea,.....and he does it on an empty stomach.
His schedule is as follows:

aloe vera followed by oil of oregano followed by lots of water...........first thing upon rising
Siberian pine nut oil (vitamin A, zinc, ???) for ulcers right after
Protein shake with NAG and calcium and magnesium tablet right after for breakfast

Food........either bown rice, gluten free pita bread, or salman for lunch

peppermint tea with NAG, after 2 hrs

another NAG with tea or water after another 2 hrs

Protein shake with NAG (now he's got his 4 NAG in) after another 2hrs

Food after 20 min.........see above

Probiotics in capsule and the 3 powders before bed time

Where should he add the fish oil and the grape seed extract. He's
eating a can of wild salmon per day, by the way.

Thanks
Linda

Hi Darkangel:

Thanks for your email.

Sorry, he hasn't started the Oil of Oregano yet, but was going to start yesterday.
After reading in LTYI, that it was hot and spicy, he was afraid to take it. He
hasn't been vomiting or been in pain, but he's not eating much either because
he's afraid the pain may come back. He hasn't been taking the Prevacid for a
few days, because he's taking so many other things, (he's forgotten). He's been
feeling good enough to do some exercise like sit ups and push ups, and walking
to the corner store for the newspaper.

He red that Cranberry juice was one way of getting rid of dark circles under
the eyes, so he started that today. The only ingredients that aren't good for
him is the sugar, which feeds Candida. He's taking 1 capsule of Trenev Trio
and double dosage of each of the 3 powders (double what it says on the jars),
whatever that is. I gave him enough info to read on the Oil of Oregano to
convince him to start it, but he wants to wait until he gets the results of his
Endoscopy, even though he's read that most doctors can't diagnose IBS or
Candida. Maybe it's just an excuse to postpone taking it. I think he's looking
for someone to get him out of taking all of these supplements. When he
called Natren to ask about the probiotic dosage, he asked if he should wait
until he gets his results before taking anything, a couple of days ago, but
he's continuing, since the person he was talking to doesn't have IBS and I
told him to follow Jini's ebook.

He's taking the GSE with the shakes, per the directions on the product description
from Holistic health shoppe.

Because his case is so severe, he can't afford to forget his medication. Alternative therapies have their place, but meds are necessary in crisis situations.

Concerning the WOO, he may be right. I get the sense from your posts that you're trying to push too many things on him at once. His situation is serious. Caution is good. He's in this for the long haul. It's going to take a long time for someone to rebuild their health when they've sunk as low as he has. Please take your time. If you rush too many things, he may have a relapse. On the other hand, if you try too much at once, you'll not know which supplements are helpful and which aren't.

Under eye circles are the least of his problems right now and are something that will resolve naturally as his health improves. If you feel the cranberry juice is making the possible candida overgrowth worse, I'd tell him to stop it.

Hi Darkangel:

Thanks so much for the advice. I just called him to make sure he took the Prevacid
and he did. I warned him about the Cranberry juice, and did tell him all of the
supplements would eventually help, with dark circles, but he still wanted the juice.
He's taking double dosage of the probiotic powders though.
If he feels any discomfort, he will quit the cranberry juice. He's getting vitamin C
from it, which will help fight the Candida, but it's also got sugar, which isn't good.

Hi Nicole:

I couldn't find any Cranberry without sugar, and his stomach didn't react well
to it, so I gave the remainder to a friend, so he wouldn't drink any more.

On page 292 of LTYI, Jini recommends the 1/2 cup Aloe Vera juice 3 times a day.
Right now he's taking it once 1st thing in the am, only. He just started on the
GSE, COQ10, fish oil, and multi vitamins yesterday, and had to rewrite his agenda.
(I had him write out what time he would take whatever he has to take and put it
on the fridge, so he wouldn't forget anything). He said that he hoped that he
wouldn't have to rewrite everything, so I'm wondering how important taking the
AV juice 3 times a day is, if he's getting the other supplements, including the NAG,
6-8 glasses of water, and whey protein shake (not absorbplus). He won't take the
Oil of Oregano. I've had a few drops to get rid of my cold, the last couple of days
He said that I could have it.

My father is the one, who got an endoscopy 3 weeks ago, after vomiting blood for
about 6 hours. He ended up calling the ambulance and going to the hospital. They
said he had inflammation in his eosophogus and duodenum. He's been waiting for
more results because I told him to ask them if he had H Pylori or Candida Albicans,
but his doctors secretary said that if there was anything wrong, they would have
contacted him. Anyway, with everything we've been reading, and the tests he's
taken from Jini's ebook, we're pretty sure he has IBS and Candida. He started
on the AV juice, NAG 4x a day, and 2 protein shakes a day,
about 1 week after the endoscopy.

I'm reluctant to add another 2 servings of Aloe Vera because he's having a hard
time accepting that he has to take all of this. I have to keep getting him to reread
parts of Jini's ebook and other info to keep him motivated to take everything.
If it's necessary to take the AV juice, then I'll tell him when he's getting used to
taking what he's taking now. I don't think he's taking enough probiotics either since
he's still taking Prevacid. He takes 1 capsule of Trenev's Trio, 2 times a day
1 hour away from everything else and 1 tsp of each of the 3 powders before bed.
He's just eating 2 or 3 small meals a day, not combining carbs and proteins.
He's not moving his bowels daily. Is this bad, considering he's not eating much?

Thanks again for your help

The George's aloe vera would be very helpful for his upper GI inflammation. Again, he's got alot going on. If he feels overwhelmed, you'll have to prioritize. IMHO, healing that dangerous inflammation would be more important than worrying about under eye circles.

Omega-3 supplementation, from fish or flax oil, is also key for reducing inflammation.

Hi Nicole:

Thanks again for your prompt reply.
He's taking the Fish Oil capsule and has 1 can of Wild Salmon, almost daily.

Do you think everyone should move their bowels everyday, even if they
only have 2 small meals daily?

Hi Nicole:

He's calling around the health food stores again, this time to see if
they can stock George's AV juice, so he can buy from them every month.
If not, would the fish oil be sufficient? If not, what would you recommend
in place of George's Aloe Vera?

Thanks

Different folks have different transit times. Maybe he's one for whom daily BMs aren't normal. If he's hardly eating anything, that could figure into it, too. When he does have a BM, if the consistency's not hard, dry and impacted, requiring alot of straining, he's probably okay.

George's aloe vera is the only brand Jini recommends that has the laxative aloin component removed. You can order it online if you can't find it locally.

Thanks again Nicole:

The Big Carrot now carries George's Aloe Vera juice, in Toronto, for those who are looking.
I called them a month ago and they offered to get it, but I didn't follow up. My father
called also, but the 2nd time he called, last week, they had it.
