ALIGN vs. Life Start

Postby ssr on Sun Jan 21, 2007 10:49 pm

In an earlier post, Chris mentioned that Life Start (II) might be a better choice (for someone who is very senstive) than Align, as Align has both milk and soy in it (AND allot of filler/additives). Here is my question: Align is Bifodobacterium infantis '35624' and Life Start is Bifidobacterium infantis 'super strain NLS'...I am wondering if there is something special about the '35624'. I have improved with Align, (vs. Lactobacillus Acidophilus or nothing) so am hesitant to go off of it, but am still usually very gassy/spastic and BM's don't feel complete. Would like to try Life Start II, to see if that would alleviate these problems, but would appreciate any input re. the difference between the two.

THANKS SO MUCH!

Hi Susan,

I can't speak to the exact difference, if any, between the two B. infantis strains.

However, since you already get some benefit from Align, seems to me it wouldn't hurt to try LifeStart2 since it has no soy, sugar or fillers to see what happens. You can always go back to Align if LifeStart2 doesn't work for you.

Best,
Chris
