what is okay to live with?

If I have mucus - not a lot, maybe a tablespoon and small amount of blood in stool - nothing major and nothing at all severe enough to cause anemia, and both can wax and wane, is this something that is okay to live with?

Nothing else plagues me and I just cannot seem to get rid of these two symptoms.

I could live with this if that is what it is.

Is there anything wrong with just living with these two symptoms?

I've tried fissure heal and aloe vera.

What I haven't tried is WOO.

Hi, Lindy.

I agree with darkangel. Certainly, these symptoms aren't ones to panic over and if you need to take some time to just "be" without concentrating on your health, your in a better position to do that then many. But eventually, you do want to heal them.

Yes, you'd most likely benefit from following Jini's Wild Oregano Protocol. But with your symptoms, which are milder than many people with IBD have, the other thing I'd look at is just plain high-dose probiotic supplementation. (In other words, if you don't want to follow the complete protocol with wild oregano oil, consider just the probiotics.)

And it's equally important to make sure that your diet is supporting (not undermining) your efforts to heal yourself. You didn't mention anything about diet, so that's just a general comment I'm throwing out there.

Beyond that, the usual, common-sense things. Are you getting enough rest on a regular basis? Have you looked at EFT or another mind/body therapy that may support your healing? That type of thing.

Hope that helps!

Thanks for your thoughtful replies.

I follow a very healthy diet. No fast food on any regular basis at all which mean maybe a hamburger or fries once every two months or so - or even longer - I do eat a veggie Subway sandwich once a week. All home cooked meals for the most part - a veggie pizza carryout maybe once a week. I do try to stay away from extremely high fiber in the form of grain as it was while eating tons of grain fiber this whole problem started. I eat lots of fruits and vegetables, some chicken and turkey, red meat only occasionally and then in very small amounts. I do eat low fat dairy - not a lot, but it's there and I do eat white flour/bread. I drink green tea daily. I drink no soda, usually just filtered tap water -- I have a LaCroix if I want something fizzy.

I am keeping a food diary.

I exercise regularly and just ran up the Hancock building (94 floors) in 17 seconds -- not to brag, just to say I keep in good shape.

I am using a 2000 edition of LTYG and I don't see the WOO protocol in it. I have ordered a new version and am waiting for it.
Does the new version indicate the dosing for the probiotics? I am currently taking two Healthy Trinity daily; that is probably too low.
I will start the WOO protocol when I get the new book; I have the Joy of the Mountains here and ready to go.

I am reading in my old version of LTYG for the Stop Intestinal Bleeding Diet that pears are okay to eat; can they be canned pears if packed in pear juice and drained? Is natural apple sauce okay in place of the peeled and cooked apple?

I am just so so so sick of these two persisting symptoms of blood and mucus and often a very sore bum. I want to get to the heart of this and get it stopped. I am looking over the Stop Intestinal Bleeding Diet in my 2000 LTYG right now -- is this what I should be following?

Thanks,
Lindy

I am getting great sleep of almost 9 hours a night -- I go to bed when my kids go to bed so I can be sure to get the rest.
