Ascorbic Acid and Magnesium

Postby Lindy on Sun Feb 22, 2009 4:25 am

I see in LTYG that Jini recommends up to 6000mg/day of vitamin C and up to 1000mg/day of magnesium to remedy constipation.

Is this considered okay to use long term or as a daily supplement?

Thanks,
Lindy

Hi, Lindy.

No, Jini recommends these high doses for a short-term remedy. She recommends that if you're still constipated after two weeks of these high doses of magnesium or Vitamin C that you resort to an herbal laxative (also short-term). For long-term relief, the thing you want to look at is high-dose probiotic supplementation.

Another possibility is Phosphatidyl Choline, recommended by Dr. Carolyn Dean in the teleseminar Jini held in November, 2008.

Hope that helps!
