Weight-loss surgery risks

Hello

This topic is about weight-loss or “bariatric” (or something like that) surgery. It helps to lose weight and lowers your risk of medical problems. Started collecting information and found short video which shows how the operations (3 common types) are performed, here is the link...

Anyone knows something about it? Is there any risk?
Is it better to perform this procedure in US?

I have worked with and known several people who have had gastric bypass and gastric banding at a major hospital in Chicago.

There are a lot of risks and I think they out-weigh the benefits.

If you are thinking of having the surgery, try following the diet that you are required to follow after the surgery just to get a taste of what life is like post surgery. The diet and calorie restrictions that you are absolutely required to follow post surgery are very extreme and following something that severe will cause you to lose weight naturally anyway.

The method of exercise and healthy diet is a much better solution. It is not a quick and easy solution, but it is the healthiest solution.

If you don't go to the root cause of being overweight in the first place, you can re-gain your weight even with the surgery. I have seen this happen many times.

Weight loss on that scale is best approached by a full lifestyle change.
