New & need help

Postby Surya on Thu Nov 06, 2008 4:18 pm

Hi All,

I am new to this forum.

I am from India staying in USA & a software engineer. I have been diagnoised recently (been 5months) with Chron's Disease moderately active involving the entire colon. Its rare to get Crohns for Indians but we can't do with the faith. Any way..

I am taking Asacol(6 tablets per day) and Entocort EC(2 per day came down from 3 per day). I tried to stop taking Entocort and was able to for less than 1 week and my recent visit to my doctor, he said not to stop or decreasing them. He suggested to start taking Remicade & I said to wait for a while till I don't have any other options.

I lost my weight around 15 pounds and again gained to 7-10 pounds while taking these medicines.

My initial symptoms where moderate diarrhea, vomiting with yellow fluids & has less iron in my blood.

Right now I am taking Iron through IV(left with 2 more rounds total of 6) as I am not able to absorb/getting irritation with oral medication.

My Present Symptoms :
I don't see blood in my stool but my doctor says that I may be loosing the amount we can't see with the naked eye.

I don't see diarrhea until unless if I am out of my regular diet/eat more outside food instead of home made food.

My diet : I am a vegetarian & taking normal indian food(rice & curries) with decreased spice levels. I take one bananna almost every day & sometimes boiled egg, protein shakes(Carnation Breakfast)
when I feel really hungry and don't have food with me.

I take good amount of yogurt which I make in home by myself(tradional indian way with culture) which helps me when I feel pain.

My bowel movement is 2 to 3 times a day.

I am looking for some alternatives for these medicines and found this LTYG and ordered the book. I have gone through all of the website and some forum discussion. I need some suggestions & guidence to start it. By reading the forums I have started taking 2 ounces of George's Aloe Vera juice (its just been 4 days) in the morning before breakfast. I don't see any irritaions for now.
So I am again trying to decrease Entocort and Asacol dosages slowly when I am feeling ok.

I thought of taking WOO but stopped as I don't know whether I have to take it with anyother medicines.

Can any one help me how to start with Jini's protocols.

First thing I would like to do is stop slowly taking the Asacol & Entocort by including jinis protocols.

Thanks,
Surya.

Thanks for the reply..

Yes, I just got the book and completed the first chapter.

My doctor said he is not gonna continue prescription for Entocort as it is not good. Thats why I am trying to start some protocols before I complete the book.

Any suggestions on my diet ??

Surya..
