healing enemas

Postby barb tocci on Mon Jan 08, 2007 1:28 pm

If the comfrey and slippery elm with marshmallow are effective in stopping bleeding and soothing the colon, would it not be also in the long term sense effective in reducing inflammation? I started yesterday with Comfrey tea ( ordered the powder) and the elm and marshmallow.

I just did the enema and then got in the tub with a good book for 2 hours.
Then in the eve. I did it again , stayed in the tub for 1 hr. So total I had 3 hours of retaining the mixture. I am not sure if my colon in the shape its in is going to absorb a whole lot of liquids, so I was happy to have at least had it all in there for that long. A couple of days ago I did aloe vera, the debittered kind from I think its Georges? any way it turned on a purge that lasted all day and I must have been in the bathrom 15 times. I had bleeding the next morning. Thus the enemas. I only had about 3 tbl.of Aloe, and even though I have not had a good relationship with aloe in the past , I thought the debittered would be different. Anyway it is off my list for healing options.

I just wondered if enemas on a daily basis are advisable? And would it have any effect on inflammation .

Thanks,

Barb

healing enemas

Hi, Barb.

Yes, these substances should definitely help in reducing inflammation.

Regarding long-term use of her Healing Implant Enema, here is what Jini has to say:

I have consulted several respected naturopaths and herbalists and the consensus is that comfrey taken internally in this manner is safe as long as it's not continued long-term. Therefore, don't use Jini's Healing Implant Enema for longer than six months at a time. You can use it for six months, take a break of a month or two to allow your liver to cleanse and then you can resume usage. Obviously, it's highly unlikely that anyone is going to administer daily enemas for six months continuously anyway!

Other areas to consider exploring in reducing inflammation are diet and infectious agents. Reducing inflammation by using soothing herbs will help in the short term, but in the long term, you also need to reduce or eliminate everything possible that may be causing inflammation. Everyone has a different rate of change, but over time, respecting your way of doing things, the more multi-pronged your approach, the better your results are likely to be.

Hope this helps.
