WOO for our Cat???

Postby KellyH2004 on Wed Sep 10, 2008 12:01 am

On page 151 in LTYG, Jini says that she used the WOO for her cat after it became sick from eating a dead bird. Our cat has had a respiratory infection for a while now and the antibiotics from the vet in the past have not helped. She has a weepy eye, sneezing, and snotty nose. I was wondering what the opinion is of using the WOO for this and what the dosage would be for a 10.1 pound cat?? Plus, how did she administer the WOO to the cat?

Thanks!
Kelly

Hi Kelly,

Yes, I would think the Wild oregano oil would work well for your cat. Since mine was nearly dead, I didn't calibrate the dosage to her weight, but just went with my intuition - which I worked out later was probably the equivalent of me taking an entire bottle in one go!

So, at least you know that it's unlikely to harm her! I would probably give her one gelcap 2x/day and see how that works. As soon as overt symptoms resolve, cut back to 1 gelcap per day, for 3 days, then 1 gelcap every other day for 3-4 days. Then stop and see what happens (or follow your intuition).

You get the cat to take it the same way you get them to take any pill. We called the vet and they gave us these instructions, which we followed no problem (it took two of us - one to hold the cat, the other to do the pill): Wrap the cat tightly in a towel, then open the mouth and put the gelcap way back in the throat, then hold the mouth shut and she should swallow it. Have a bowl of water ready because she will likely want to drink once the gelcap hits her stomach.

Here's some more instructions I found:

Let us know how it goes!
