okay, i found natren bifido capsules in a store near me, which is good, cause I wanted to start with the bifido and build up... but is it okay to just empty the capsule in water instead of having the actual powderbottle? and how many capsules do u think? any suggestions would be great, thanks!

hi Amy--

Yes, its ok to empty the capsules out...Jini recommends that if you have more than 3 bowel movements/day. That is what I do, and for awhile I was emptying them into a measuring spoon, which is ALOT of work. In talking to Natren, I asked them if they had equivalents---answer is 2 capsules is JUST UNDER 1/2 t.
So---I ramped up from 1/2 to 1 to 1 1/2 etc, until now I take 4 capsules per dose of each strain) to approximate 1 t.

Hope this makes sense and helps!
