What Supplements to Take at Bed-Time?

Postby Aria'sMom on Fri Jun 15, 2007 6:30 am

I am a bit confused about which supplements to give to my daughter at bed-time.

George's Aloe, MucosaHeal, and Natren's Bifido Factor are all directed to be taken on an empty stomach at bed-time (as are my daughter's doses of asacol and zyrtek).

Knowing the Bifido must be separated by 2 hours from prescription drugs and herbs, I figured she could take the Bifido half an hour or an hour before her "dinner" Absorb Plus shake at 5:30 p.m. Her stomach is definitely empty at that time. But she usually takes a MucosaHeal before her dinner meal. Should she forget the MucosaHeal before dinner, opting instead for the Bifido? And how to schedule the stagger of meds at bed time?

Advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Get her to check with her gut which would be best:

George's and MucosaHeal together at bedtime and probiotics before 5:30 shake?

or

George's and MucosaHeal before 5:30 shake and probiotics before bed?

The bedtime dose of Asacol would be the first one I would cut out during the weaning procedure. And are you also weaning off zyrtec and any other drugs - I would advise this. Consult a good naturopath if you need herbal alternatives to any drugs - but always introduce new herbs according to the guidelines on pg. 55 of LTYG.
