Have you heard of Immunocal? it is dietary supplment which has similar enefits to mother's milk, consists of over 90% bio-active undernatured whey protein isolate which raise body's GSH levels, it claims impairment of intestinal Glutathione synthesis in IBD. It is manufactured by Dr Gustavo Bounous in McGill University, Quebec, Canada. My friend introduced me to take it, at first it seems helpful, but after 6 mths, it flair again, but all these time I am still taking medication, so don't know whether it helps with my UC or not. Please advice.

You may also want to check out ImmunoProRx. It is the only whey protein supplement on the market that is NOT a by-product of cheese manufacture, which means it is the only truly non-denatured whey available. Even Immunocal, which is the top-of-the-line whey isolate, is a by-product of cheese manufacturing. The problem with this is that the milk goes through a heating process, chemical modification and pH change in order to produce the cheese - and each of these steps denatures/damages the whey proteins. The damaged proteins are then filtered out, and the non-denatured proteins that remain are referred to as "cold-processed" and "undenatured".

ImmunoPro is a primary product and is completely non-denatured, leaving the original whey proteins intact. P.S. You can have your GSH levels tested by ImmunoSciences labs to see how much of a role they might be playing in your condition. If the levels are normal, boosting your GSH with whey may not help much.
