My father went to his old (agewise) medical doctor about 6 weeks ago because of vomiting blood and stabbing pain in his stomach. He had a blood test and ultra sound and was given Prevacid, which my dad quit after a couple of weeks, because of side effects and what he read about it (I've been given him info from your LTYI book and another book I've been reading about Chinese herbs from the library). Anyway, he's been vomiting blood over the past 2-3 years, but not fainting or getting dizzy....yet. He finally made an appointment to get an Endoscopy for tomorrow but cancelled it today, because his pain isn't severe anymore, and he hasn't been vomiting for the last week. He's only been eating one meal a day for the past week from the following: organic baby food, white rice, canned watered packed tuna, canned salmon (no salt)
He's been taking Siberian Pine Nut Oil for a month, 1 week on the following:
Natren's Triopak, Calcium and Magnesium tablets, Vega shakes (Brendan Fraser), Matula Tea, Peppermint Tea, and Rice Milk, but not enough water, which he's going to start doing. I had to scare him with ulcer complications and surgery, to get him to read about natural remedies, to motivate him to take these products. I've tried to talk him in to seeing a Naturopathic doctor, but he doesn't want to change doctors.
From what I've been reading, he either has an obstruction in his intestine or duodenum. He was told years ago by his doctor that he had a duodenal ulcer. He might even have a fistula. He also goes through a roll of toilet paper a day (I think he blows his nose, but he doesn't tell me what he does in the bathroom. I see lots of toilet paper in the garbage). I have to buy 24 rolls approx every 3 weeks.
He's taking Natren's Triopak (3 in one capsules), not Healthy Trinity. He's finally admitted, after my questioning him, that he also gets constipation on and off. His stools were black, but changed to normal within days of starting the Probiotic and calcium/mag tablets, a week ago, when I bought your LTYI ebook. He's only been on these natural remedies a week, except the Siberian PN Oil, which has been for a month. He also gets migraines, maybe a couple times a month and he once told me that he thought he had fibromyagia (sp). He said that he also had arthritis. He has depression as well and gets panic attacks in public, so prefers to stay in. Once in a while, he'll go half a block to get the paper. He doesn't like to complain and/or admit he has IBS. He had trouble admitting he had a bleeding ulcer. I've convinced him to take the Oregano Oil and can probably get him on Absorbplus, unless he has Candida. I will give him your test to find out, when I get a new filter for the brita.
I would appreciate it if you have a better idea on what products he should take, given the info above and whether or not he should go on the Elimination diet. I don't know how much longer he can go on, limiting food intake, when he loves to eat. He's about 5-10 lbs below his normal weight and is concerned about losing more. He's aware that he may have to have emergency surgery and it might be at the wrong hospital with the wrong surgeon, if he keeps bleeding, but he still won't get an endoscopy to find out what's going on in his gut. I've printed all of your tests and will get him to answer them tomorrow.
Thanks so much for any advice and/or comments Linda
Thanks for your prompt reply. He only bleeds when he vomits. His stool used to be black, but lately it's normal....when he's not constipated.
I did some research after sending the original email to you last night, and found another procedure called a CT scan to see what's going on inside his bowels. The article didn't mention endoscopy. I wonder why his doctor did ultrasound, and not the CT scan, when my dad told him he was vomiting blood and having stabbing pains. Here's the url:
I've copied and pasted the specific part of the article, if you don't have time to read all of it:
Ultrasound is a painless procedure useful in finding some causes of abdominal pain.
* This may be done if the healthcare provider suspects problems with the gallbladder, pancreas, liver, or the reproductive organs of women.
* Ultrasound also assists in the diagnosis of problems with the kidneys and the spleen, or the large blood vessels that come from the heart and supply the lower half of the body.
CT scan is a special type of x-ray that provides useful information about the liver, pancreas, kidneys and ureters, spleen, and small and large intestine, including diseases such as appendicitis and diverticulitis.
I don't think his doctor is very knowledgeable. What do you think? There's no mention of Endoscopy in this article.
Thanks again for your prompt reply. I just finished searching google for info on candida albicans and mucous. I have a hunch that he's using so much toilet paper to spit in. He has alot of symptoms of candida like panic attacks, depression, migraines, joint pain, abdominal pain. I think the candida is the basis of his IBS (ulcers). He ate more than usual today and yesterday, compared to earlier in the week, and he vomited. Earlier in the week, he was just eating one meal, either baby food or rice. He never mixed carbs and proteins, so he stopped vomiting. I've been reading about threelac and oil of oregano. What do you think is better for candida? I've already gone through yelling matches with him and he finally booked the endoscopy, after have stabbing pains 2 nites in a row, but then cancelled the day prior to the apptmt. After the clinic told him they were going to bill him $200, we got into another argument. He wasn't in pain and hadn't vomited for a week, so he must've got over confident. He stopped taking the supplements as well. He's very emotional. I'm going to get him to read about candida and get him to want the remedy. Do you know if threelac or oil of oregano, according to jini's book, is better for candida albicans? Thanks Linda
Thanks again for your prompt response. My dad finally got an Endoscopy. He vomited most of the night and had to call an ambulance to go to the hospital. They said he had an inflamed eosophogas and inflamed duodenom and will send the results to his doc, so he can get the details from him in a weeks time.
He did the Candida test from Jini's book this am and thinks he's got Candida Albicans now, and has agreed to take the Oil of Oregano. I've checked in to Threelac as well, on a forum, and found out that it works better for some. Others alternate between Threelac and Oil of Oregano, and Olive Leaf Extract, (I think thats the name). Most had better results with Threelac from my limited search on google. I think I'll get him both.
Do you think he should get Mucosaheal and Jini's recommended Aloe Vera? I have to see if I can get him caught up to reading what I've already read to motivate him to agree to take it regularly, and not only when he's in pain.
Thanks again. I think you're right. I read the Oil of Oregano procedure and the order to take Jini's products in and the Aloe Vera was before. I don't remember reading about the Fish oil Caps in her IBS ebook. Do you have more info on that (brand or page number)?
He's reading about all the products now and holding off on the Oregano. I want him to choose, so he's more apt to stick with it, versus me having to shove it down his throat.
I think I got the wrong Probiotic. He's been taking Natren's Trenev Trio for about 2 weeks (one a day). He gets constipated sometimes. It has all 3 in one capsule. After buying it, I read that it's supposed to be Healthy Trinity. Then I read on the forum to take the 3 separately in powder. What should he be doing, when he finishes this Trenev Trio. He's only taking one a day. The doctor at the hospital told him to get back on Prevacid, which he's doing, so he's going to need more probiotics now. How much more do think, ....on the present brand, and which Natren probiotic should we buy next?
He's chosen NAG, Aloe Vera, and Grape See Extract, so far. Jini's book says to introduce them one at a time, a few days to a week apart. I think he should get LHN's protein shake and a multi vitamin, after he reads those sections. Are you familiar with Dr Mercola's 1000% multi vitamin:
Or is Jini's recommended Natures Plus Natural Pineapple Flavour sufficient?
Thanks Linda
PS. I want him to know everything he needs to take and the cost, up front I told him that if doesn't have his health, and the money is no good in the bank, if he can't enjoy it. If I've missed anything that you think he should take, please let me know
If he goes on the Minimize Gas and Bloating diet, when should he start the LHN protein shakes, to gain the weight that he's lost? Absorbplus isn't good for Candida.
Thanks again for your prompt reply. I was reading Jini's procedure on colon cleanse, if one has constipation, otherwise it isn't necessary. He had a colonoscopy last summer. At the Candida Albicans Cure website, they suggested a colon cleanse with Dr Mercola's product;
Yes, you're right. We're going to work on healing the inflammation first, and the protein shakes and multivitamins, one product at a time, a few days apart. I just don't want him to think that a few products are going to fix everything, and then have to add more later, when he's feeling better and forgotten about his Candida.
I want to get the products all at once, so he can see them everyday and understands that he doesn't have a "get healthy overnight" mentality, and changing his diet is a lifetime thing.
Thanks for your warning. If I rush him, it could make him quit if the healing crisis is too much, so I won't push him. I have to get him to understand the healing crisis, also.
Nature's plus Pineapple vitamins are not in holistichealthshoppe.com. although Jini recommends them in LTYI. Are they still recommended? If not, which one is? If so, is it available at Health food stores?
If we buy the Fish oil caps, do we need the NAG or Grape Seed Extract?
On page 125 of LTYI, the recommended dosage of the 3 Probiotic powders is :
Dosage Instructions Following Antibiotics or Exploratory Tests If you’re taking an antibiotic, you can either wait until the course of treatment is over before beginning probiotic supplementation, or, you can take probiotics during the course of antibiotic treatment. If you take probiotics during antibiotic treatment, the probiotics will help to further encourage the exit of undesirable bacteria from your gut and will also simultaneously inhibit the overgrowth of yeast, fungi and parasites – which can flourish in the absence of good bacteria (which have been killed off by the antibiotic). If you know you have a Candida albicans problem, for example, then you definitely want to take probiotics at the same time as the antibiotics to prevent an explosive proliferation of this yeast that will then be difficult to control. If you’ve supplemented with probiotics prior to antibiotic treatment, then take your probiotics as follows:
Two hours after you take each prescribed dose of antibiotics, take 1 tsp. of each Natren brand probiotic (Megadophilus, Bifido Factor, Digesta-Lac) mixed in 6-8 ounces of room temperature, filtered water (not tap water) on an empty stomach (15-20 minutes before food, or 2 hours after food), then take an additional dose (1 tsp. of each) before bed. When your course of antibiotics is finished, do Jini’s Probiotic Retention Enema and take 1 tsp. of each powder on an empty stomach (15-20 minutes before food, or 2 hours after food) three times a day for three months and then once or twice a day (always on an empty stomach) for the following three months.
He started the Trenev Trio 2 weeks ago (1 capsule per day), and started the Prevacid on Wed, should I just add another capsule (double up), breaking the capsule, so he gets the powder, or keep it in capsule form? He doesn't have constipation any more. He originally started the capsule for constipation, but I don't know if he's still taking the capsule, or breaking it, like I told him to, when he didn't have constipation. He doesn't remember things sometimes.
We wrote the list of products today to prepare to call some healthfood stores, and there were 7 (all from Jini's list on page 25), except Mucosaheal. We added the whey protein and multivitamin. I'm not going to worry about Candida right now. Doing this was stressful enough for him, since he gets confused easily.
That's right. I remember reading that it has to be 2 hours from drugs.
Do you know how much vitamin C is in Oil of Oregano? I've been reading that people with Candidiasis (sp) should take 1000 to 4000 mg a day over 2 or 3 servings, so the multivitamin probably won't be enough. I think I'll see how the Oil of Oregano works first, before ordering vitamin C. Hopefully he'll eat enough Broccoli, but he doesn't like cutting and cooking and I don't have time to do it.
We're going to order the multivitamin with no iron, since iron causes bleeding. Will it cause bleeding if it's in supplement form? By the way, he used to have hemochromotosis, which is too much iron in his blood.
