I'm sorry, I don't know of any specific brands of gum. What I used myself whilst on the IBD Remission Diet were "Yummi Bears". You can have up to 10 daily and they give you something to chew whilst on the diet.
If Steven wants gum, you'll just have to do some label-reading to find something without any nasty ingredients...
All the best, Nicole

Wrigley's was listed in the IBD diet book. But I remember reading somewhere (by Jini), that it was no longer a good choice because of ingredient changes. She did have other brand recommendations, but I cannot find where I read it...HELP!
I just found the informationin an old email update from Jini:
REVISION #3
ELEMENTAL CHEWING GUM
On p. 36 of "The IBD Remission Diet", it specifies allowable chewing gums are Wrigley's brand regular Spearmint or Juicy Fruit. However, since the time of writing the ingredients of these gums has changed and they are now pretty toxic products. Also, I suspect that even at the time of writing, the formulations may have been different between Canada and the United States.
So, regarding allowable chewing gums: Please look for a brand that is 100% natural and sweetened with stevia. Alcohol sugars like sorbitol, maltitol, xylitol are okay (according to elemental parameters) but are mildly antibacterial, so don't consume more than 3 pieces per day.
