Syringing WOO

Postby Napoleon on Wed Apr 15, 2009 12:50 pm

I would like to try syringing WOO as I saw recommended in another post:

'It would probably benefit proctitis, but what is much more effective is to syringe the rectum nightly with about 5ml Wild Oregano Oil - diluted 6:1 with organic extra virgin olive oil. '

Do you use the small syringes that come with kids medicine?

Does the WOO stay in place, or does it run out? Meaning, should I be laying on a towel after application?

Thanks!
Napoleon

Hi, Napoleon.

I know in the past that Jini's recommended finding a disposable syringe with a plastic tip, the longer the better. You might ask for this at a medical supply store if your local pharmacist doesn't have them.

I've never done the syringing myself, so I'm not sure what to tell you as far as what to expect (if anything) in terms of messiness. The first time, I'd definitely lie down on a towel so that if there is any messiness, etc., you're protected. Then you'll know better what to expect.

All the best,
Nicole

In Jini's message, she says to syringe with 5ml WOO. Is that accurate, or is it supposed to be .5ml?

Because if using 5ml and diluting 6:1 (which I am assuming is for comfort), makes a heck of a lot of oil to syringe into the rectum.

Hi there,

Yes, my client who has done it repeatedly uses a 5 ml syringe.

Put your hips up on some towels, to tilt the pelvis so the mixture doesn't run out as easily and then syringe in as much of the 5ml as you can.

Alternatively, you could mix the wild oregano with cocoa butter - stirring continuously until hardened to ensure even distribution - and make into suppositories.

take care,
Jini

I would like to try to make the suppositories; what is the ratio of coco butter to WOO?

What I am trying to do is heal up proctitis in the rectum -- passing blood and mucus/pus (no more than 2 tsp. at a time once or twice a day); also burning/swollen feeling in rectum. I think from previous posts, the WOO was the recommended treatment for this.

I am also taking MucosaHeal at the Severe level, but I don't know if MucosaHeal is reaching the problem area.

****I did the recommended treatment for the constipation as given in the ebook and I have been going everyday since. -- I also did a three day stint of pulsatilla 200C and I have been eating a small dish of stewed prunes and cherries every morning. *** I am very happy with the recommendations from the book and plan to do another probiotic retention enema when I get the rectum healed (Will it ever heal!?!?) since I have been using so much WOO on it and have probably killed off all of the good bacteria in that area.

Thanks!

ADDENDUM:
Well, after getting back to syringing WOO, I notice more bright red blood and an increase in mucus production- and burning all day like my whole rectum is raw. Well, drat!
It does seem like I am not reacting well to the WOO unless this increase in bright red blood and mucus is a sign that I am clearing out something. Or am I not diluting enough (10 drops WOO to 30 drops olive oil)?

Any ideas about where to go from here?

Hi There,

1/
Yes, you're not diluting enough. If you want no "burning" at all, then do 10:1 (10 drops organic olive oil to 1 drop wild oregano). Most can usually tolerate 7:1. What you've been doing is 3:1 - so yes, way too strong for the rectum.

If you make it into suppositories, use the same ratio, but use cocoa butter instead of olive oil and stir continuously as it hardens to ensure even distribution of the oregano oil.

You should give your rectum a rest a for a week or two though, let it get over the irritation from the overly-strong wild oregano oil.

Also, you may want to try the DMSO & Postassium Iodide suppositories instead - they may work better for you.

2/
No, I don't think the MucosaHeal will have too much effect on proctitis - quite minimal I would think. You really need things in suppository form, or syringed directly up into the rectum.

3/
Okay, great news about the constipation - but WHICH treatments exactly did you do?

thanks,
Jini

Thanks for your reply and advice.
I have a few more questions-
Question 1.
If I am using 10:1, will I still get all of the benefit of the WOO? It seems like such a small amount.
Is that just a testament to how potent it is?

Question 2:
Back to this quote again:
'It would probably benefit proctitis, but what is much more effective is to syringe the rectum nightly with about 5ml Wild Oregano Oil - diluted 6:1 with organic extra virgin olive oil. '

If using the 5ml of WOO - is that a 5ml syringe filled with the 10:1 dilution of WOO?
---Sorry to be so tedious about this question, but I just want to get this right.

Question 3.
Does WOO aid in healing? I am just so frustrated with trying to heal this area; I have been trying for over a year with little to no success.

What I did for the constipation:
Probiotic retention enema
Probiotic layering - 3 different probiotics between powders and capsules 3 times per day
Pulsitilla (this was from my naturopath) ** I did a three day course of Pulsatilla 200C.
Stewed friut compote as part of daily breakfast -- compote contains 6 dried plums, 1 dried apricot, 10 dried tart cherries; soak in water for 24 hours in frige, simmer for 40 min. and eat with breakfast.

I will finish out the bottles of MucosaHeal that I have; I figure if they aren't exactly reaching the rectum, they are giving my colon some good support. Is that okay, or is it wrong to take a supplement when it might not exactly be indicated?

Thanks so much-
Leon

Hi, Leon.

I'll ask Jini to answer this one directly, so that you have her exact recommendations regarding the dilution ratios.

Regarding your first question, the main research we currently have for wild oregano oil is from the applied Microbiology field in the area of food preservation. Minute amounts of carvacrol (active compound in wild oregano oil) have proved effective against pathogenic microorganisms. So yes, wild oregano oil, even at a low concentration will have an effect.

Also, yes, wild oregano oil will help the healing process. Check out what Jini writes about inflammation on page 147-148 of Listen To Your Gut to learn my thought process behind that statement. In addition to that, wild oregano oil is anti-inflammatory. It's even been used on burn patients (I'm currently using it as part of a treatment protocol for a second-degree burn I got on my neck due to a wind-blown ember while burning brush). I'll be writing about this for the upcoming issue of Good Health is Real Wealth, to be released in June.

All the best,
Nicole

Yes, that's correct, you prepare your dilution (10:1 or 7:1 or 6:1) and then fill the syringe with it.

You can keep taking the MucosaHeal indefinitely. If you like, drop down to the maintenance dose - some people use it like this rather than mesalamine or asacol.

take care,
Jini

Thanks so much for the information!

Does Jini have any thoughts as to why the rectal bleeding seems to increase with the WOO?

Thanks,
Leon

Hi, Leon.

Would you post your question on the new forum at http://www.jptwellnesscircle.com/? Have you already received your log-in information for there? And then I'll gladly ask Jini to add any other thoughts that she has.

Warmly,
Nicole
