Bleeding,mucosa heal, help!!

Postby jdriaza on Fri May 01, 2009 12:41 am

Hey I was diagnosed with Ulcerative colitis 14 months ago. A few days ago I came out of the hospital because my blood levels were 7 out of 14, and 15 out of 30's because of my recent flare,I was loosing blood and my body was not making any. I was given 4 units of blood with 1 bag of iron. Afterwards my blood levels went up. Anyways i did not take any steroids this time and decided to give the IBD remission diet a try. I am on my 4th day and the blood does not seem to want to stop. i tried the healing enemas, and seem not to be helping. Anyways I decided to take the Lialda (anti inflammatory) drug 2.4mg they prescribed me at the hospital. Is this ok to do while on the diet. I am hoping this will stop the blood faster and maybe after I can dose off.

Anyways I am having trouble drinking the required shakes for my weight. I started with 3 a day and I am up to 5, but I need to be up to 8 or 9. How has Jini done it or other people. It seems to be challenging. I need some advise.

Also, I have heard good and bad things about mucosaheal and was wondering if it was required to take while on this diet? Can I just replace it with 6 NAG (750mg) a day mixed with water and the 1/3 cup aloe vera 3x a day between the shakes? This is what I have been doing so far. thanks. i am going to start the dairy free powder probiotics tommorrow when they arrive from the mail. Should I start with 1/2 tsp 2 times a day for two weeks or the full 1tsp 3 x a day. thanks.

yes, the problem with increasing the number of shakes is that I dont feel hungry. How can I fix this problem. So, you mean to start with Bifido Factor first and the 1/4 tsp dose and then start adding te other strains slowly?thanks.
