can I use cocoa?

Postby lbd80 on Thu Mar 05, 2009 10:46 am

I'm making my own shakes and was wondering, can I add pure dutch cocoa- no additives?

Also, I found some gummy bears that contain: glucose, gelatine, cocoa and carnuba wax (as a glaze),
would they be ok?

I haven't been told that I have a chocolate problem or that I don't, but I noticed the absorb plus comes in chocolate so thought I might be able to add cocoa.

Hi, there.

No, don't add anything to the Absorb Plus other than the supplements recommended in Jini's book, The IBD Remission Diet.

The only ingredient in the gummy bears that you mention which sounds questionable is cocoa.

It's important that everything you eat be entirely elemental for you to have the complete bowel rest that will give your intestines the time and space they need to heal. It's just better to be safe than sorry...
