Boswellia Dosage and Solgar Product

Postby jdriaza on Mon Mar 16, 2009 10:26 pm

Hey Jini,
I am new to your site and am waiting for your books to come in the mail, but I have read in your forums how Boswellia is good for inflammation. I was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis and wanted to know how I can use this product for my advantage. When do I take it(morning or night)? What dosage or how many pills you recommend? Also, since both the brands that you recommend: source naturals and Nature's way, have Maltodextrin and/or gums as their other ingredients I was wondering if you can look at the Solgar Boswellia Resin Extract and see if it is a good product to take. The Supplement Facts include

Standardized Boswellia Extract (Resin) (Boswellic Acid 228mg [65%]) 350 mg
Raw Boswellia Powder (Resin) 100 mg

Other Ingredients: Vegetable Cellulose, Vegetable Magnesium Stearate, PhytO²X® Blend (L-Ascorbic Acid, Natural Beta Carotene), Silica.

thanks.

Hi, J.

I've never personally used boswellia. Dosage-wise, the only thing I have to go on is the experience related by Jennifer Mann in Issue #2 of Good Health is Real Wealth. Her husband took two tablets a day with meals, she says.

I'll ask Jini to comment on the Solgar product.

All the best,
Nicole

Actually, I don't have any personal experience with Boswellia. As Nicole wrote, one of our writers did a special article on it for Issue #2 of the Infoletter, where she presented the research, dosage recommendations, etc.

Her husband was trying it and seemed to do well with it. The only thing I can suggest is for you to get the Infoletter, or else do some internet research. Here's the link to the infoletter if you decide to get that:

sorry I can't be of more help!
