Question regarding crohns

Postby NANCY on Wed Dec 20, 2006 3:41 am

I have crohns, which is something new to me. I'm trying to learn as much as I can about this rotten problem. I have gotten chills, temperature and a severe headache twice in the last month, which only lasted 1 1/2 days or so. Has anyone else experienced the same thing. I'm thinking its because of the crohns, but not sure.

Fever with Crohn's

Postby Nicole on Wed Dec 20, 2006 7:02 pm

Hi, Nancy.

Of course, I can't say for sure whether your fever, chills, etc. are from Crohn's, but they certainly could be.

I had Crohn's symptoms for about five or six months before I was formally diagnosed with it, and one of the symptoms I experienced regularly was low-grade fever and chills.

In looking back, here are the things I felt helped me THE MOST:

Following the IBD Remission Diet....that got the rest of my holistic therapies off to a good start

Following Jini's Wild Oregano Protocol....I started that simultaneously with the IBD Remission Diet and continue to cycle through the various stages based on my symptoms or lack thereof

Taking all three Natren probiotics (the L. acidophilus, L. bulgaricus and B. bifidum), both orally and via probiotic retention enemas (Instructions can be found in Listen to Your Gut)

Virtually eliminating refined sugar and drastically reducing the starchy carbohydrates in my diet while greatly increasing the consumption of vegetables I could tolerate. As my condition has improved, I have been able to eat a much greater variety of vegetables.

Learning to integrate my life better with my emotional self instead of just trying to soldier on in spite of things (EFT is my favorite mind/body healing tool). Learning to listen more attentively to my body and to that "little voice" inside when it tells me to rest, do something active, do something fun and special with the kids, etc.

Don't be surprised or discouraged if it takes awhile to see significant improvement. Jini compares this to building a house....the foundation is the least impressive part of the construction process, but without it, the structure wouldn't stand. As you integrate more and more therapeutic actions into your life, approaching the disease from more and more angles, eventually you will start to see a snowball effect or more and more good results.
