Does anyone know if rectal prolapse could be confused with proctitis?

Thanks,
Lindy

It seems like I fit almost all of the symptoms for rectal prolapse - and I do remember distinct times that I have prolapsed including my last child birth --exactly how much I don't know and I was always able to tuck everything back in. If there is any way that proctitis could be a mistaken diagnosis for rectal prolapse -- my blood tests never were conclusive--, then that would explain why I have none of the other symptoms of IBD and why none of the treatments I try seem to work.

Does anyone know if rectal prolapse can be mistakenly diagnosed as proctitis?
Thanks,
Lindy

Hi, Lindy.

I honesty don't know; I'm sorry. You may want to get a second opinion from a different doctor on that one - bringing up the history that you've just shared here.

All the best,
Nicole
