I have constipation problems and a ton of gas. I am also pretty sure I have a yeast infetion because I took the saliva test and got a 13 on the written test thing that came with the book. I am trying to eat according to the minimize gas and bloating diet, but it's hard because my mom has absolutely no time to cook, and I try but don't have enough time either. I'm eating almost the same thing every day and feel hungry and am tired of it. I was wondering if anyone had any recipes for meals without yeast, too much fiber, or sugar. Also, do you have any advice about what I can do about constipation? I go to the bathroom a little too much actually, but only a tiny bit comes out each time.
I found myself eating alot of fish, chicken and turkey. I baked the fish and just put ghee (clarified butter which is allowed on an anti-candida diet) and sprinkled with herbamare (seasoning). You should be able to find both of these in your healthfood store. I would brown ground turkey and then saute green beans in coconut oil until tender then sprinkle with Almond Meal for more calories and added protein (again, you should be able to find this at the healthfood store--also called almond flour) then put the browned turkey and green beans together in a bowl and season with salt to taste. I eat TONS of zucchini---bake it at 350 for about 15 mins in my pampered chef baking dish with coconut oil (use the unrefined, preferably organic type) and herbamare. Herbamare was my best friend when I first started introducing foods after the Elemental Diet!! Just be sure to use the healthy oils to add extra calories to your food. If I am craving something sweet, I will drink some decaf green tea sweetened with Stevia and this usually helps the sugar craving pass. If you check out a website called www.wholeapproach.com there is a whole section with recipes! There are even recipes for safe anti-candida diet desserts. I did a version of pumpkin pie that was pretty good from that site. There is a print out that can guide you as to what foods are safe to eat and which you should limit or avoid totally. www.yeastconnection.com also has a good guide list to use. I fell off the wagon around Christmas time and am trying to get back to eliminating sugar and carbs. I was doing so great and then I got the stomach bug and lost 6 pounds in 3 days...I was so disgusted that I just decided to eat whatever I wanted over the Holidays b/c I find it is hard to gain weight while on a low carb/suagr diet. I can maintain my weight but not gain without the assistance of Absorb Plus....which unfortunately right now I can't afford to order until our tax returns come. Hope this was of some help!
yes it is super exspensive---Bob's Red Mill brand runs $12 for 1 pound! However I did find that my coop. has the almonds without skins on the bulk section, so I puchased 1 pound and it was $4.99...big difference! I am going to check out the website you gave. The coop is 1 hour away and I am out of almond meal right now...it might be worth ordering it instead of waiting until I need to make a trip worth my while an hour away. I have also bought almond butter and eat it by the spoonful for extra calories.
