Has anyone heard of new product: Pearlcium

Postby serenechazan on Thu Nov 13, 2008 11:02 pm

According to my friend who is selling this multi-level product, and the web-site: www.pearlcium.com, this is the newest & greatest product to help with all kinds of things that highly absorbable calcium can do. It is made by a reputable herbologist (for many years), and other traditions such as chinese & ayurvedic to name a few, have a long history of powdered pearl usages. This product maker claims to have found a way to extract "signal proteins" of this pearl powder that makes it much more absorbable and palatable. It is also used topically for skin care.

My friend has been using it for 2 months, and says she is now sleeping through the night which she hasn't been doing for years, and she is much calmer, which I have experienced. Other claims for other usages are also being noticed.

Wondering if Jini can comment on this product? Thanks much,

Serene

Hi Serene,

When ingesting any mineral, more important than the source (in calcium, we had coral, oyster shells, etc.) is the FORM that the mineral is in.

I couldn't get that information from the website - maybe your friend can tell you what's written on the side of the bottle?

Basically, unless it's an angstrom-sized particle, or formulated for transdermal absorption, it's not going to be any better than any of the OTC calcium supplements out there.

A common marketing tool is to attach a "story" to a product that makes it unique or specialized and that seems to be what they've done here.

all the best,
Jini
