I am new to this forum but not to this diet/remedies. I cannot thank you enough Jini for the information and help that you have been to me. Two years ago I was hospitalized for UC and went from there to the familiar round of meds (pred. azul. asacol immuran, etc.) I was also on the SCD diet for nearly a year. I was fanatical about the diet and I did not see results. When I stumbled on Absorb Plus' web site I subsquently discovered IBD Remission Diet. The results have been wonderful. I am currently off all meds for two months and taking shakes as needed (what a lovely comfort), mucosaheal and georges aloe. I still feel this awe at the change and sometimes worry about a crash/return to the awful state that I was in before the nourishment and healing Absorb brought. I usually remind myself about the tool of Absorb and the diet, but it was so awful that it haunts me.
Could you address the longterm use of the herbs in Mucosaheal. I am currently using the maintenace dose.
Thanks

MucosaHeal Herbs

Postby Jini Admin on Sun Oct 29, 2006 12:10 am

Thanks for your kind words and I'm so pleased you're doing so well.

EFT would probably really help you to address the anxiety/fear of becoming sick again. It's a great therapy because the basic manual (which is all you need) is free, and you can do it yourself:

http://www.emofree.com

Regarding the ingredients in MucosaHeal, you can go here for a detailed list of each ingredient:

http://www.imixnaturals.com/mucosaheal/mhingredient.asp

And the herbs should all be safe for long-term use - there are no known contraindications to long-term use.

What you can do, when you start feeling more stable, is to gradually reduce the dose (by say, one capsule per day and then stay on that for 2-4 weeks, then reduce another capsule and stay on that for a month, then perhaps take only every other day, etc.)

If you reduce slowly like this, it gives you time to see whether your gut is healed enough to maintain it's own health. If you get twinges of pain or a recurrence of any symptom, go back up to the previous dose or higher.

You should also do the Wild Oregano Oil Protocol when you feel ready, to ensure your long-term health (see Ch. 2 of LTYG, or if you don't have it, then see the ARTICLES page on this site).

all the best,
Jini
